Emmanuel SOGBADJI is a visual artist born on May 29th 1971 at Lomé in Togo. Born from a Beninese father and a Togolese mother, he went to l’École des Beaux Arts of Abidjan (Ivory Coast) in 1996 and he finished studying in 2000 with a Higher Arts Degree in stone and bronze sculpture. From 2000 to 2001, he studied at L’École Régionale des Beaux Arts in Saint-Étienne (France) in design studios and from 2001 to 2002 he did a placement in stone carving at Pietra Santa in Pise (Italy). Back from Lomé, he taught visual Arts in Abomey Calavi (Benin) and at the French high school of Lomé. From 2004 to 2010, he finally stopped this to get involved in his job, in parallel to his teaching profession; he dedicated his time for artistic research.

Since 2002, Emmanuel SOGBADJI has exhibited mainly in Italy (in Roma 2003, 2004), in Milan, in Alba, in Alba, in Parma in 2005 at la seconda monstra Del arte contaporanea, in Sardinia (2006), Orléans in France, in Luxembourg, in Berlin, in Geneva, in the USA in Washington where he lived during 6 months in 2012. He exhibited in New York and in Miami at the gallery Waterhouse & Dodd as well.
